Mia loves Baby Brooks as she calls him. She loves everything about him. She is such a good helper and I am so proud of her for doing so well with the transition. I am so grateful to be the mother of these amazing children and to have an amazing husband who is a wonderful father.

Bath x 2

The other day after I picked up the kids after work we got home and I decided to put them both in the bath because we had a busy night and wouldn't have time otherwise. I was going to give them separate baths but after I got Mia in she didn't want to get out so I put Brooks in his chair with her. They did so well and Brooks just laughed at Mia. I am so lucky to have these beautiful children.

Sandy City 5K

We got the race about a half hour before it started so we could prepare. This is our before shot, we all look pretty sleepy. We had a long stressful weekend and we hadn't gotten much sleep. We were pretty excited to be there, especially Lola who is due in just a few weeks with my nephew Ethan I am so excited!!! Anyways we got checked in and ready to go. My goal was just to make it under an hour, I had been running 1.5 miles in about 25 minutes which I know sounds slow but when you are totally out of shape it about as good as its going to get. I had been walking while I had been running during the week at those 1.5 miles so my second goal was to run the whole time. We started and I ran and kept at my pace the whole time. It was a nice run weaving through the neighborhood and then around the mall. As I was running around it I was thinking I wonder how many times I have been on this road in a car, millions but on my feet never how strange and familiar all at the same time. I had a lady catch up to me and say we have been trying to catch up to you since you have been the same pace the whole time and I looked around and thought me? It was kind of funny that I was someone's pacer. As I can around the end I saw my family cheering and I sprinted to the finish line it was an awesome feeling to know that I had accomplished both goals under an hour 53.03 and I ran the whole time, I placed 20th in my age group and 209 overall out of 586. I know if I keep this up I will be able to cut down my time significantly. I felt so good after besides my feet, I discovered during the race that after 6 years of using the same shoes I need some new ones :) Thanks Ryan for the fun experience I am excited to keep running I feel so good afterwards.

The Arm

Brooks likes to go to bed. He gets a little fussy between 9-10pm and he doesn't want to be held or fed he wants to be laid down in his bed. He is just like his mama that way when its bed time that is where I want to be. He always sticks his little arm out and I love it. Thank you for being such a fun baby Mr. Brooks. We love you so much.

Conditioning

As I drive to work every morning I see a lot of high school aged kids running and I think I wish that was what I got to wake up and do instead of going to work. Then it makes me think of high school soccer conditioning. It was so so hard but I loved every minute of it. I loved getting up at 5am to go condition for hours at Storm Mountain Park, I loved when I finally would beat whoever I had been trying to all summer and I would get them, I even loved New Sports. If you played Jordan High Soccer you will know what I am talking about. As time has gone on from high school I have gotten more and more out of shape and gained a lot of weight. I don't care so much about the weight as I do the being in shape. I was in amazing shape back then and I think about how good I felt. As I have had my babies I have gotten less and less in the habit of working out because I want to spend as much time as possible with them after work and I can't imagine leaving them another hour when I only get two or three with them. For a while now I have been trying to figure out time to get back into shape. I can't go before work because Kade usually leaves between 4:30-5:00am. So on Sunday my cute brother Ryan calls me and asks me to run in the Sandy City 5K on the 4th of July as he asked I thought I don't really have time but I want to and I want to do something with Ryan. So I sat there for a minute and thought, I could go around 9 every night and just run around the neighborhood that way both kids are usually asleep and I won't miss out on time with them just with Kade but he is fully supportive of me and my dreams. Last night was the first night I went for a run. I was pretty out of shape but I managed to run more than I thought I would while listening to my music, some really good stuff ha ha. I wanted to thank Ryan for giving me the push that I needed, hopefully I will be able to keep it up and get back in shape. Ryan is always there to help me and be my rock, I am so lucky to have him in my life. He is one of the best friends I have ever had, love you so much poo. If you have any ideas for me please leave me a message :) Thanks.

2 Months

I took Brooks to his 2 month appointment on Friday and he is doing great. He weighs 12.68 lbs 71% & 23.03 inches long 50%. He is sleeping great and loves to sleep in his bed. He is a very happy baby and smiles at us all the time. We are so lucky to have this little angel in our lives. I hated watching him get shots but it must be done, he did so well. Little buddy you have been a delight to have in our home, you are so easy going and fun, we love you so much.
