I have some pretty amazing people in my life I am so blessed. Kade has been working in California on the Oakland temple the last 6 weeks and only came home once which was hard on me because I sure love my best friend and would spend every waking moment with him. I can't even put into words how much he means to me and how grateful I am for our marriage.
So my awesome aunt Paula hooked me up with a buddy pass for cheap and I was able to go out there for two days. It was the best weekend ever :) I was also lucky enough to hang out with my friend Heather who I hadn't seen in almost 5 years. We met at Disney World when we worked there. My awesome in laws watched our babies while I went out there it was fabulous :) I got my Nicholas Sparks book and hopped on the plane. I love his books and found one I hadn't read yet. I flew into Oakland and was amazed with it all. I could see the temple from where I was and knew Kade was working hard. Heather picked me up we went to Bart and headed to San Francisco. It was my first time being in any part of that area and I loved it. I didn't realize how close the cities were. We went to the Ferry Station and walked around looked at the bridges and Alcatraz and talked it was so fun. Then Kade was able to join us a little later we walked up and looked at all the piers and stopped at Pier 39 and shopped and went to the restroom in this weird trailer thing haha. We made our way over to Fisherman's Warf where I had the best clam chowder ever and shrimp. We went to the Ghiradelli factory got some amazing ice cream. Then we were just walking around and Kade knew as soon as we went around this one corner that the water would be right there so he let me walk a little in front I wasn't sure what he was doing, then when I saw it he told Heather to wait and watch me run like a little girl and that was exactly what I did. Then we walked out on the pier and looked at the Golden Gate Bridge and I had some awesome memories of John Stamos going on haha. We then went and rode the cable cars and it was so fun. While we were riding we had a Bride and Groom flag us down to get their picture on the car it was so cool. When we got off we did some more shopping and saw the Disney store and had to go in of course :) We rode Bart back and said bye to Heather and were dead tired!
The next morning we slept in haha 8am. We went to breakfast, went grocery shopping for Kade then got ready to go the my 1st MLB game ever!! The Oakland A's are my 2nd favorite team and they happen to be playing the Red Sox choke haha Kade's favorite team. We got there early so we could walk around the stadium and enjoy it all. I was so excited I could barely stand it. We looked for a shirt through the whole stadium went to stores multiple times and Kade finally found one for me. We took our seats and waited for it to start. They sang the National Anthem and then the first pitch came. It was amazing. We loved the game and had the traditional hot dogs, and peanuts. The A's won 3-2 in the bottom of the 11th and it was so fun. I love when my team wins! I am hooked I can't wait to go to another game. After the game we went up to the temple and looked at some of the stuff Kade has been working on, then went into the visitors center and it was so pretty and we had such a great time.
I flew out the next morning at 6am and went to work. What an amazing weekend and I am so grateful to Paula, my in laws, and Heather for making it happen.
I got upgraded to 1st class...booya!!
We ate here Sunday morning and this is the way my aunt spells her name so I took a pic and sent it to her.
This is the view I saw when we got off Bart for the game and yes tears came to my eyes.
So excited to be in the water even though it was freezing!!
We got our tickets! I borrowed Kade's hat for the occasion.
I love the picture with the buildings they fascinate me. (Ask Joy and Stacia they were with me the first time I went to New York)
A's win!
Cafe Rio breakfast at the airport, had to try it!
At the Disney Store!
That is great! I can't imagine going that long without seeing your spouse! What a great trip.
